Writing Assignment #10

Due: Friday, 10 April 2009

The narrator of "The Swimmer" doesn't directly tell the reader that something is wrong. Write 300-400 words about foreshadowing within the story.

As always, the most important aspect of this writing assignment is basing what you write on the details of the story. Use direct quotations as you answer the question. While your answer should be in complete, grammatical sentences, you do not need to write a formal essay.  There does not need to be a broad, declarative opening. You do not need to reach a thundering conclusion.  Dive right into the discussion.  If you are stuck with how to begin, just start naming the details you think are important.
