Writing Assignment #9

Write 300-400 words exploring how The Crying of Lot 49 is a postmodern literary text, drawing on details from the first two chapters. You'll remember, of course, that in today's lecture I highlighted some of the characteristics of postmodernism, including playfulness and irony; an embracing of popular culture; a technique of pastiche; and skepticism toward metanarratives.

As always, while your answer should be in complete, grammatical sentences, you do not need to write a formal essay.  There does not need to be a broad, declarative opening. You do not need to reach a thundering conclusion.  Dive right into the discussion.  If you are stuck with how to begin, just start naming the details you think are important.
